Decorating is underway at the Pueblo Zoo for the annual holiday light extravaganza - ElectriCritters.
Visitors will be surrounded by more than 250,000 twinkling lights and entertained by over 100 lighted critter figures, many of them animated.
Two new animated animals have been added this year: a snapping alligator and an additional box car on the Zoo Train-this one loaded with a waving walrus.
Visitors will experience walking along paths lined with lighted trees and through the whale's belly on their way into the Ecocenter, where they can enjoy goodies from the Candy Cane Café and view the African penguins.
After completing their walk through the Pioneer Ranch to view more lights and critters, visitors will head to the main building to enjoy close encounters with small animals or browse the Wild Things Gift Shop.
Electricritters will be open weekend evenings, starting Nov. 20 and running through the end of the year.
