Imagine being a fire fighter for a day!

Some elected officials in Pueblo got that chance Saturday.

It's the first time the International Association of Fire Fighters and The City of Pueblo Fire Department teamed up to host "Fire Ops 101."

It's a fire fighting experience where elected officials can do the hard work of our firefighters, wearing gear while climbing ladders and even using the jaws of life.

"To bridge the gap with our elected officials, so that when they see us doing something or they have us requesting equipment, manpower, they understand why and what we use it for," said Josh Martin, a fire fighter.

Three officials from Pueblo participated along with two from Pueblo West and a fire industry representative.
