El Pueblo Museum events at the Chile & Frijoles Festival

Tens of thousands of people will pour into downtown Pueblo this weekend for the annual Chile and Frijoles Festival. The festival area encompasses El Pueblo History Museum.

The museum is featuring three new exhibits. The "Faces of Aultman" exhibit features 41 black and white photographs by Oliver Aultman, an early Trinidad photographer. Two interactive exhibits include a child's historically furnished Mormon cabin to help tell the story of Mormon emigrants who built a settlement near El Pueblo trading post during the Mexican War and a complete life-size chuck wagon to tell the tale of the cowboy. Museum admission is discounted to $1 for adults, free for children 12 years and under.

Three "Song of Pueblo" concerts that poignantly tell the story of Pueblo's history will be held on Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. and on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. Tickets are $15.

Call the museum at 583-0453 for more information. El Pueblo History Museum is located at 301 North Union.
