El Paso County Search & Rescue warning climbers

A warning Tuesday night from El Paso County Search and Rescue about nasty weather moving into the Pikes Peak region over the next 36 hours. They are advising that everyone avoid trying to climb Pikes Peak on Wednesday. El Paso County Search and Rescue anticipate colder temperatures, heavy rain at times and snow above tree lines. They say folks usually begin their ascent very early and may not be prepared with the right gear to endure a drastic change in weather. When folks don't heed these warnings, it can put not only the climbers but search and rescue personnel in harm's way. It can be a costly prospect to bring them off the peak.
