The El Paso County Clerk and Recorder's Office is now accepting credit cards. It started yesterday and on the first day more than 300 customers took advantage of the new payment method.

Customers may use their Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover cards in Motor Vehicle, Recording, Elections and Clerk to the Board of County Commissioners.

"We hope that our customers find this a convenient and easy way to conduct business with our office. We are looking for additional ways to utilize this service to help to provide an even better level of customer service to the citizens of El Paso County," said El Paso County Clerk & Recorder Wayne Williams.

There is no extra charge to use a credit card if the fee is $10 or less. But above $10, a 2.7 percent fee is added to the total bill.
