DENVER (AP) - U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan is coming to Colorado to visit schools and discuss excellence in education and leadership skills.
On Thursday, Duncan will join Gov. John Hickenlooper and Lt. Gov. Joe Garcia for a visit to Skyline High School in Longmont to take part in a town hall meeting to hear from students, educators and business executives on ways to improve education in science, technology, engineering and math.
In the afternoon, he plans to hold a panel discussion with nearly a dozen principals from Denver schools to discuss their model to support and train good principals.
On Friday, Duncan will join U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet and Denver Mayor Michael Hancock in a discussion with teachers on ways to improve their leadership to better support students.
