Black Hills Energy plans to close a coal-fired power plant in Canon City, but now a group of community leaders are trying to save it. The Fremont County Economic Development group wants to save the plant and its 22 jobs by pushing cleaner technology, plus give a market to a Florence coal mine that is about to open. The group says all told, they could add more than a hundred jobs.

News First 5's David Ortiviz will meet with group representatives this morning. More to come.
