Several communities are waking up to showers and a few thunderstorms Sunday morning. Rain has developed early Sunday around Walsenburg and La Junta.
Showers and thunderstorms will be possible for all of southern Colorado this morning through this evening. The best chance for rain (30%) will be along and east of a line from Lamar to Walsenburg. West of that line look for a small chance (15%) for isolated showers and possibly a thunderstorm.
The upper-level low that is helping spawn the rain is located over the Texas panhandle Sunday morning. The low is projected to move east/northeast through the afternoon. Once the low departs the region, the chance for rain will come to an end. That is not expected to happen until later this evening.
Partly to mostly cloudy skies. Highs will top out in the 60°s and 70°s. (Colorado Springs: 66° | Pueblo: 70°)
Overnight skies will become mostly clear and temperatures will drop to the 40°s. (Colorado Springs: 40° | Pueblo: 42°) - Meteorologist John Dissauer
