East Coast braces for 'hazardous' snow storm

Forecasters and government officials in and around the nation's capital are warning that travel tonight will be "very hazardous or nearly impossible."

A major winter storm threatens to create blizzard-like conditions before it moves out tomorrow.

An army of snow removal equipment is ready to go as the mid-Atlantic region expects to get punished by the storm. In northern Virginia, officials say 1,800 trucks will be ready to roll by morning. Maryland has 2,000.

Total snow accumulations of 16 to 24 inches are expected, resulting in cancelation of flights and train services.

To the south, in Richmond, Virginia legislators are taking a day off today.
