Early morning fire leaves 2 families homeless

COLORADO SPRINGS- A two-alarm fire tore through a duplex on the 1300 block of Potter Drive on Wednesday. 

Two families were sleeping when the fire started. They were able to make it out safely. 

Crews tell News 5 the call came in around 4:30 a.m. They arrived on scene within 3 minutes, and were able to get the fire under control in under 20 minutes.

There were no injuries. 

Witnesses say the fire appeared to have originated on the back porch of the home. 

No word yet on the cause.
