The Colorado State Patrol is investigating a serious early morning accident near Rocky Ford. The crash occurred on Colorado Hwy. 266, 2 miles east of Rocky Ford around 1:30a.m.on Saturday.

Troopers say A 2004 Nissan Pickup Truck, driven by a 37 year-old male Rocky Ford resident, was traveling eastbound on the highway when it ran off the right side of the road. The truck hit an embankment, a power pole and a barbed wire fence, coming to rest in a field.

The driver and two male passengers were transported to Arkansas Valley Regional Medical Center with minor to serious injuries.

Alcohol is considered to be a possible factor and is currently under investigation.
