The car thieves who broke in and stole a Colorado Springs man's Nissan Pathfinder right out of his garage last month made a dumb move in driving past the home again on Sunday morning. The victim saw the car, called 911 and then took off after them.

The man, who didn't want his name released for fear of retribution, told News First 5, "they got away with it for a week, and we saw them come by our house again and we tried to chase them."

The chase ended just north of the city's parks and recreation offices on Recreation Way when the suspects hit a tree. By that point police officers and a campus officer from the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs had joined the pursuit.

The suspects, a man and a woman, tried to run away on foot but were captured by the officers and taken into custody. The victim also said officers recovered multiple stolen drivers licenses and burglary tools from the vehicle.
