Driver hits wrong pedal, crashes into brakes store

Pueblo Police say a 69-year old driver was trying to park his car, when he went crashing into a Brakes Plus building. Instead of pushing the brakes, the man hit the gas pedal.

The accident happened shortly before 1:30 Tuesday afternoon at the Brakes Plus on the 1200 block of Northern Ave.

The driver's truck smashed through the glass door and came to a stop in the store's waiting area.

The driver and his 68-year old passenger were not hurt. Two managers and a customer inside the store had to leap out of harm's way, but none of them were injured.

Officer Jeff Capito with the Pueblo Police Department says the driver was ticketed for careless driving.
