Colorado Springs Police arrest a driver for hitting a man on a bike with his car. The driver thought the bike was stolen.
On Monday afternoon, Colorado Springs Police Officers responded to the intersection of Palmer Park Blvd. and Wooten Road in regards to an auto/pedestrian traffic accident.
The investigation revealed that the suspect, Timothy Hombs was driving his Dodge caravan when he observed what he thought was his son's bike being ridden by an unknown party. He believed the bike had been stolen and he intentionally struck the victim who was ridding the bike.
Mr. Hombs then exited his vehicle and approached the victim who then struck Mr. Hombs, believing he was going to assault him again. The victim received minor injuries to his leg and was treated and released at the scene.
Mr. Hombs sustained minor injuries to his face and was also treated at the scene, prior to being taken into custody for second degree assault. The bike the victim was riding did not belong to Mr. Hombs' son.
