Driver fails to yield hitting fire truck

A driver ran into a Colorado Springs Fire truck, Saturday afternoon.
Officials say the truck from Engine 9 was enoroute to a call with lights and sirens active, when they were hit. The accident happened at the intersection of Chestnut Street and Fillmore Avenue. The fire truck collided with a car, after a 65 year old driver failed to yield to the fire truck.'
The driver of the vehicle on was transported to Penrose Main Hospital, where he was treated and released. He was also served with a traffic summons for Failure to Yield to Emergency Vehicles.
