Dr. Joe Garcia will continue in his duties as president of Colorado State University-Pueblo, while running for lieutenant governor of Colorado on the democratic ticket.

The CSU Board of Governors voted Wednesday morning in Pueblo to allow Dr. Garcia to continue in his post, using vacation time and other accrued time-off to campaign as needed. CSU Fort Collins President Anthony Frank will run the Pueblo campus when necessary.

If he's triumphant in November, Dr. Garcia will resign immediately after the election. If the democratic ticket, headed by Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper, loses--Garcia will continue on as president of the university.
