DougCo deputy arrested for sexual exploitation of a child

An unidentified Douglas County Sheriff's Deputy has been arrested on charges of sexual exploitation of a child after an investigation into inappropriate text messages involving a child revealed a deputy was involved. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office says the deputy has been placed on unpaid administrative leave while a "lengthy" investigation continues. The deputy's alleged conduct happened off-duty and did not involve any Douglas County schools, according to a media release. The unnamed deputy was booked on a $50,000 bond and released the same day after posting the bond.
