Double homicide suspect turns himself in

The man suspected of killing two people has turned himself in.  Colorado Springs Police say Gary Glen Vigil turned himself in Friday to the El Paso County authorities.

Vigil was wanted in connection to the August 10th shooting deaths of 24-year-old Camille Root and 22-year old Daniel Castaneda. The shooting happened around 10: 44 pm at Platte Avenue near Juanita Street. When police arrived on the scene they found two people dead. The Coroner's office determined that the two victims died from a gunshot wounds to the head.

CSPD will work with the District Attorney's Office to make arrangements for Vigil extradition. Vigil face a 1st Degree Murder charge.
