Folks enjoying our local parks and trails are being targeted by thieves and some are forgetting to keep valuables out of sight in their cars.

On Monday night three cars were broken into while they parked in a lot in monument valley park.

CSPD says they have no leads right now and they are reminding trail-goers to keep their things safe.

Sgt. Steve Noblitt says, "Don't leave items of value in your car. If you have to leave items of value in your car lock them in the glove box or lock them in the trunk, put them out of view at minimum."

He also mentioned if you see anything suspicious, call CSPD at 444-7000 or if you would like to remain anonymous and have a tip, text CSPD at 847-411 and make sure in the body of your text you start with "CSPD" followed by your tip.
