Talk about your alternative medicine, University of Florida researchers say dolphins could be used to study human diseases, such as cervical cancer.
Scientists say they've discovered dolphins can get infections related to the human papillomavirus that can lead to cervical cancer in women. However, there's no evidence that dolphins develop the disease.
Researchers say if they can figure out why that is, it could someday be applied to preventing cervical cancer in people.
According to the press release: "No animals are harmed during collection of cell and tissue samples."
