Dolores Huerta to speak in Pueblo Wednesday

The co-founder and Secretary-Treasurer of the United Farm Workers of America, Dolores Huerta, will speak at CSU-Pueblo Wednesday morning. Huerta will be in Pueblo as part of the Distinguished Speakers Series at the university.

As an advocate for farm workers rights, Huerta was arrested 22 times at protests.The topic of her talk will be activism for social change.

In 1984, the California State Senate presented her with the Outstanding Labor Leader Award. In 1993, she was inducted into the National Women's Hall of Fame and earned the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) Roger Baldwin Medal of Liberty Award; and the Eugene V. Debs Foundation Outstanding American Award, and the Ellis Island Medal of Freedom Award.

Huerta will speak in Hoag Hall at 8 am.
