Doherty hockey player is Athlete of the Week

Doherty High School's Trevor Chavez is this week's Loaf ‘N Jug Gatorade Athlete of the Week.
The 18-year old senior is a defenseman for the Spartans hockey team. He's helped lead Doherty to a 4-2-1 record this season and is looking to lead the team to a state playoff run.
After graduation, Trevor hopes to try out this spring for a junior league team-the San Diego Goals. Another option is to potentially play division-three college hockey.
One thing's for sure-Trevor loves the game of hockey.
"It's just so exhilarating and always going," said Trevor. "There's never a stop. It's a physical game. i wouldn't have it any other way."
Trevor maintains a 3.5 GPA and will graduate this spring with honors. He wants to study engineering in college.
He also enjoys surfing in San Diego.
