Dogs trapped in Cripple Creek mine

A sad story tonight out of Cripple Creek where three dogs are trapped in a mine shaft.
Employees at the mine noticed the dogs in there Tuesday. They're not sure how long they've been down there or how they got in there.
They're working with the Teller County Sheriff and local animal control to try and coax the dogs out of the mine. The problem is the area is very inaccessible, so at this point., they're not planning to send anyone in to get the dogs.
We'll continue to follow this for you and let you know what happens to the dogs.
