Dog rescued after 80 foot fall

Pueblo Sheriff's Office workers rescued a dog Friday morning that had fallen into a ravine near the Pueblo Reservoir.
The dog, a Springer Spaniel, was training with its master when it fell off an 80 foot cliff. The dog was not injured but it was too dark to retrieve it. Friday morning officers rappelled down the cliff and retrieved the dog.
"It's nice to help out whenever we can. Even in this type of call we get to practice, resourcefulness, technique, and skill. Plus we get to reunite two good friends." says Deputy Dylan Jacketta, who made the rescue.
Pueblo County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Bureau has a Search and Rescue component on their volunteer team. In addition, citizen's can volunteer for fire, dive, victim advocate, courier, civilian patrol, explorer scout or reserve deputy.
