LOS ANGELES (AP) - The Los Angeles Dodgers have traded reliever Octavio Dotel to the Colorado Rockies shortly before the teams played each other.
The deal for a player to be named was announced less than an hour before Saturday's game at Dodger Stadium. The Rockies are in the middle of the races for the NL West and wild-card spot.
It was the second time this season that Dotel was traded. The Pittsburgh Pirates sent the 36-year-old righty to the Dodgers on July 31.
Dotel is 3-3 with a 3.99 ERA in 60 appearances this season with the Dodgers and Pittsburgh Pirates.
The Rockies will be Dotel's 10th team in 12 major league seasons. He has 105 career saves.
