EL JEBEL, Colo. (AP) - Court documents say a man suspected of killing his aunt and uncle in El Jebel had been arguing with the aunt about the family dog before allegedly shooting them.
Thirty-three-year-old Williams Anderson Amaya allegedly shot 40-year-old Mayra Lopez and her husband, 42-year-old Eliseo Lopez on Saturday night at their home, where Amaya had been living. The coroner says they were each shot four times.
The Aspen Times reports that Fifth Judicial District Attorney Bruce Brown said other relatives were in the home at the time, including Amaya's brother and his wife and daughter, and that Amaya may have targeted some of them. The sheriff's office previously said that the Lopezes' two teenage sons were also there.
Amaya doesn't have an attorney listed in court records.
