District-11 School Board has made changes to its policy on student transfers.
In light of Wasson High School and Lincoln and Bates Elementary schools being closed to save the district more than 2 million dollars a year, District 11 administrators are working out how to accommodate displaced students.
Last night, the school board approved a transfer plan that gives priority to students from Wasson High School and two elementary schools within their immediate neighborhood boundary.
Students who wish to enroll in schools outside their designated boundary, must apply for a transfer and they will only be approved if there is space available.
The district will not provide transportation to student's transferring out of their designated area.
The board is also redrawing district boundaries to determine what schools are in which part of the district.
They will provide updates on that, and transfers at meetings set for February 19th and 21st.
A final vote on the boundary changes is set for February 27th.
