If you skipped the Pueblo Toy Run Saturday because of the weather, you may have been the only one. Despite snow and chilly temperatures, they had a huge turn out.
Several people even still got their motorcycles out on the icy roads.
Everyone met at Pueblo South High School 10 a.m. They did a different route than usual this year, because of the weather, but they weren't going to let a little cold weather get in their way. Organizers say they're seeing more of a need for the toy run this year than they ever have; the number of organizations that they are trying to help has increased to 17.
"We always said either rain, snow, or shine; we're going to do it on two wheels or four wheels," says Monica Martinez, with Pueblo Bikers United.
This is the 34th year for the run.
The Pueblo Fire Department worked to gather toys up until Saturday's run. If you missed out on Saturday, but still want to give a toy; there are some options available. You can drop them off at Outpost Harley Davidson (North Elizabeth Street) or you can take them by the Pueblo Christian Activities Center off of Alma Avenue. They're currently trying to organize which toys go where, so act quick if you're still planning to bring one by.
