Denver Zoo has celebrates birth of De Brazza's monkey

Denver Zoo announces the birth of a De Brazza's Monkey named Kanani. She was born to mother, Marinda and father, Kisoro, on December 19, 2009.

Kanani is described as very active and playful despite Marinda's attempts to be protective.

Weather permitting, visitors can see her wiggle away from her mom in Primate Panorama.

Denver Zoo Summer hours, effective March through October, are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. with admission gates close at 5 p.m. Summer season admission fees, are $12.00 ages 12-64, $7.00 for ages 3-11 and $9.00 for ages 65+. Children under 3 are admitted free.

Zoo is open every day. Parking is free.
