DENVER (AP) - Nick Shore's hat trick was more than enough offense for Denver as the Pioneers beat Air Force 5-2 Saturday in men's college hockey.
Shore also assisted on a goal as Denver (2-0-0) completed a two-game season-opening sweep of Air Force and Massachusetts-Lowell.
Shore scored the Pioneers' first three goals, than assisted on Joey LaLeggia's power play in the third period. Zac Larraza added an empty-netter late.
Denver outshot the Falcons 42-24. Air Force goalie Jason Torf had 37 saves and Adam Murray made 22 stops for Denver.
Casey Kleisinger and Chad DeMers had goals for the Falcons (0-2-2).
