Do you know the proper method to perform CPR on your pet? If not you may want to attend a Pets and Preparedness picnic in Pueblo County this Saturday. It runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Greenhorn Mountain Park.
The American Red Cross will have demonstrations on how to perform CPR on pets. There will also be tips on animal preparedness from the Division of Wildlife and veterinarians.
You're invited to bring your four-legged friends for a doggy cake walk, grooming and more. There will also be food, drinks, and information for families on being prepared for an emergency.
"The hope is, with these community events, that people get to know their local first responders, we all have some food and some fun together, but mostly that people walk away feeling empowered to plan and prepare to protect their family during an emergency." said Phil Daniels, Rye Fire Chief.
The event is being organized by the Rye Fire Department.
The Pueblo County Sheriff's Office Emergency Services Bureau says three similar events will be held in the near future. Details will be posted on the Pueblo Preparedness Facebook page.
