Not far from the Paul Ryan rally in Pueblo West today, Democrats in Pueblo rallied at the Union Depot to challenge Ryan's remarks and promote President Obama.

Many women were on hand at the rally to speak up about why they want Mr. Obama re-elected.

They say he has consistently stood up for women's rights and has always fought for equal pay between men and women.

"Tell them to vote for President Obama because he understands and stands up for women, for our economic future, and he stands up for the middle class," said Senator Angela Giron of District 3.

The primary focus though: defeat the Romney-Ryan ticket.

They say the Romney-Ryan campaign has just been a lot of broad talk without specifics.

"We're not buying what they're selling," said Rick Palacio, the Chair of the Colorado Democratic Party. "We want to move our country forward not return to the same failed policies that crashed our economy and punished the middle class."

They also emphasized Obama's focus on education and alternative energy sources, urging Congress to extend the renewable energy tax credit for wind energy.
