Debate continues over political semi-trailers

The Colorado Department of Transportation is urging county leaders to enforce laws that ban political semi-trailers.
The trailers pop up every political season around Pueblo. They're illegal in the county and state law doesn't allow them parked near state highways.
But some argue the trailers are a freedom of speech, and should be allowed in certain places.
Pueblo County Commissioners formed a non-partisan committee to study the issue. The group and representatives from CDOT met with county commissioners on Tuesday morning. "Much of the discussion here was not surrounding trailers on state highways, but what do we do with trailers that are not on state highways and try to come up with consistency between rules and regulations in both of those areas," said Jeff Chostner, Pueblo County Commissioner.
Despite CDOT's objections, the committee is asking county commissioners to lift all restrictions on the trailers.
Commissioners have pledged to make a decision before the 2010 election.
