If you have loved ones serving in Iraq or Afghanistan, this Friday is the mailing deadline to get cards and packages to those countries by Christmas.

Holiday mail going to other military overseas APO/FPO locations should be sent by Dec. 11. Express Mail can also be used to mail packages to other overseas military locations until Dec. 18 for delivery by Christmas.

The U.S. Postal Service is encouraging the use of Priority Mail Flat-Rate Boxes. The contents for Priority Mail Flat-Rate boxes can be any weight for one low rate. If it fits, it ships. Customers shipping with the Priority Mail Large Flat-Rate Box to our troops overseas receive a $2 discount.

Customers can also receive additional discounts by shipping their packages online at usps.com and using Click-N-Ship service to print out their postage, and to request free carrier pick-up service.
