When you go to sleep at night, you may worry about burglars, but it turns out daytime burglaries are the ones on the rise in Pueblo.
There were 1483 reported by this time last year, and so far this year there have already been 1595.
That's a 7.5% increase.
It's happening from seven in the morning till three in the afternoon when homeowners are at work, so remember to take precautions.
"Lock your doors," said Sgt. Eric Gonzales, Pueblo Police Public Information Officer. "If people lock their doors, secure their garage doors, close any windows no matter how big or how small they are, that's going to deter a lot of burglars."
Police say the hot spots are on the East Side and in Bessemer.
They are targeting suspects they believe are involved.
