Falcon School District 49 is preparing for a special board meeting Thursday night at 6:30.
D-49 board meetings have seen heated discussion between parents and the district in recent weeks as board members have tried to cover a $4 million dollar budget gap. January 13th the board decided to do away with most of their busing for next school year. About a week later three administrator positions within the district were eliminated.
News First 5 received a letter from the board today, talking about the changes they're facing and where the district is heading. The letter from the school board says the changes they're undertaking will likely be called by the media and others as "radical" and "dangerous" but they need to innovate to meet future budgets.
Tune into News First 5 at 10 p.m. for updates from the meeting.
