DENVER (AP) - A cyclist has died after he was hit by a Denver
light rail train at an intersection southeast of Invesco Field at
Mile High.

Regional Transportation District spokeswoman Daria Serna says the cyclist was going east to west at the train crossing near 13th Avenue and Osage Street around 12:40 p.m. Sunday. KCNC-TV in Denver reports that witnesses said he waited for a northbound train to go through a crossing with crossing arms and lights but then went around the crossing arms and was hit by a southbound train.

Serna says trains typically go 35 mph through the intersection.

Denver police are investigating.
