It's an intense battle, pitting strength against strength. But the competition is in the kitchen, it's called the "IronCupcake" - as in cupcakes made with beer.
Two dozen bakers going head to head for prizes and bragging rights.
This is not the place to show off your grandma's favorite recipe. "That's why it's IronCupcake," said Sandy Ploy, "because it's not boring vanilla, it's beer. We've done wasabi, mustard and wine."
Sandy Ploy came up with the idea in 2008 and it keeps growing. Bakers meet once a month for taste testing competitions. "Over the last year we've ballooned from 50 people per event to I'm guessing close to 300 here," said Ploy.
She's hoping to go national. "The Food Network and I have not talked yet, but I'm working on it," laughs Ploy.
Next month's competition will be cupcakes with bacon.
Monday's night "Best Tasting" winner was the cupcake made with Blue Moon.
