COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) - Officials announced that a college of education dean in Alaska has been selected after a national search for the same job in Colorado Springs.

The Gazette reported Monday Mary L. Snyder, the current dean at the College of Education at the University of Alaska in Anchorage, will replace an interim dean with the same position at the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs.

Snyder will take over in July for David Fennell, who has been the interim dean at the College of Education since last July.

Snyder said her experience with distance education, data systems and diversity will help support efforts the college already has under way.

UCCS's College of Education partners with other institutions in Asia and focuses on multi-cultural education.
