CU, Mines get Pentagon grants for equipment

DENVER (AP) - The Defense Department has award grants for equipment to researchers at the University of Colorado and the Colorado School of Mines.

The grants were among 190 announced by the Pentagon on Tuesday. Individual amounts weren't listed, but they total $54.7 million and average $288,000.

The CU grants are for nanoscale imaging and optical equipment. The School of Mines grant is for an electron microscope.
