CT man calls 911 over wrong sandwich order

A Connecticut man called 911 on Wednesday after he says a local deli made his sandwich wrong.

"I specifically asked for little turkey, and little ham, a lot of cheese and a lot of mayonnaise, and they are giving me a hard time. I wonder if you can stop by," said Rother McLennon, when he called 911 from Greatful Deli.

The dispatcher replied, "You're calling 911 because you don't like the way they're making your sandwich?"

"Exactly," Rother replied.

The dispatcher told him he shouldn't buy it if he didn't like it.

McLennon said he just wanted to make sure they got his order right the next time, and for the deli to "stop playing games" with him.

Tila Azinheira, who owns the deli, said the man placed a phone order for 14 sandwiches - and that they made them how he asked. But after he saw the sandwiches, Azinheira said he refused to pay for them.

Azinheira said the deli told the man they could not take the sandwiches back because they were special orders, then he used the deli's phone to call 911.

Police have not filed charges.
