FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - Colorado State University has withdrawn a request that football stadium contractors make cash donations to the project after the state's top building official called the proposal disconcerting.
Now the university is asking contractors and subcontractors to donate materials for the $226 million stadium.
According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan (http://tinyurl.com/nn3eemy ), the university says encouraging private contractors to donate will help them meet fundraising goals.
Stadium critics say the donation requests create a potential for bid inflation.
