Colorado State University-Pueblo has won a competitive grant to investigate ways for the Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) to use alternative energy to sustain and maintain the state's rest areas and right-of-way corridors.
The College of Science and Mathematics and College of Education, Engineering, and Professional Studies will work on the $125,000 project.
Four graduate students, with subcontracting assistance from Boulder-based TerraLogic and Denver-based David Evans and Associates, will participate this summer with additional graduate student assistance in the fall.
Dr. Rick Kreminski, the College of Science and Mathematics, will serve as principal researcher on the project.
