Football practice begins Friday for the teams in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference. On Wednesday the coaches from the 10 schools and some of their star players got together in Colorado Springs for the annual Media Day event.

CSU-Pueblo was ranked fourth in the conference preseason poll. The ThunderWolves even got one first place vote.

CSU-Pueblo "running back Jamaal Johnson said, "In the eyes of coaches I think the other teams deserve to be ranked ahead of us. But if I had to do it you know I'd rank us a little bit higher.">

ThunderWolves head coach John Wristen told News First 5 Sports Director Lee Douglas, "We want to be champions at the end. We want to go play in the NCAA division two playoffs. And we want to do it now. And I think we have the ability to do that."

The ThunderWolves begin practice at midnight on Friday night/Saturday morning.
