After two years, CSU-Pueblo has a library again. The six-story landmark campus building has been closed for a massive remodeling that cost $24 million.
The building is now much more impressive visually. The biggest change was removing narrow windows, replacing them with large glass panels that draw attention to the horizon and make the interior much brighter. The remodeling included new mechanical and electrical systems, plus new technology that wasn't available when the building was built in 1965. The building is energy efficient and may be eligible for the LEED Platinum designation.
The building was also expanded by 22,000 square feet.
