CSU-Pueblo library gets a $24 million face lift

CSU-Pueblo's oldest academic building is getting an expensive face lift. The University's library has been gutted and dozens of concrete panels have been removed. The CSU System is funding this $24 million project.
Construction started on the six-story building a little more than six months ago. The plan is to give it a modern look.
"So the openings that you see today will be filled in with glass from the ground up to the sixth floor--so you'll have views of the city, east, north and south out of every floor of this tower," said John Barnosky, Director of Planning and Construction at CSU-Pueblo.
For now computers and some books have been relocated to the basement of the Occhiato University Center.
When the six-story tower building renovation is complete then remodeling of the three-story wing will begin.
Construction is set to be complete by spring 2011.
