CSU football player denying drug use and fighting

FORT COLLINS, Colo. (AP) - The lawyer for a CSU football player accused of attacking fellow students and using steroids and marijuana has denied the claims on behalf of his client.
Attorney Erik Fischer says junior linebacker Mike Orakpo never threw a punch and was defending himself after being tackled by a drunk freshman during the April 6 altercation that led to the player's suspension from the football team.
The Coloradoan reports Orakpo and teammates Colton Paulhus and Nordly Capi were charged with misdemeanor disorderly conduct stemming from the fight. Another CSU student, Donald Gocha, faces the same charge.
Fischer argues liquid suspected of being a steroid that police say they recovered from his client's bedroom is not Orakpo's. The attorney says his client lives with two other people, and the evidence was not taken from the athlete's room.
