CSPD marks 6th anniversary of officer Jared Jensen's death

It's been 6 years since Colorado Springs police officer Jared Jensen was shot and killed responding to a call for service near Costilla and Hancock.
Jensen was shot after atempting to arrest a parolee who was wanted for attempted murder.
After approaching the suspect, Detective Jensen was shot once in the face. Jensen fell to the ground and the suspect stood over him and shot at him again. Four minutes later citizens called to report a shooting. Responding officers located Jensen on the sidewalk suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to Memorial Hospital where he later died.
Police are asking on their Facebook page for citizens to help honor the memory of Detective Jensen's service to the department.
