Colorado Springs police assisted the FBI's Innocence Lost Task Force in an effort to crash down on child sex trafficking throughout the United States.
The operation included enforcement actions in 76 cities across 47 FBI divisions nationwide and led to the recovery of 105 children who were being victimized through prostitution.
Additionally, 150 pimps were arrested on state and federal charges.
Detectives from the Colorado Springs Police Department's Metro Vice and Narcotics (VNI), a multi-jurisdictional unit, conducted three day long operations involving outcalls for prostitution.
The Sand Creek Impact Team assisted the teams with transports and processing of those arrested. Additionally, advocates and analysts were on scene to assist with victim resources and the processing of information.
Locally, detectives made nine arrests for prostitution, cleared several warrants and obtained an array of information relating to prostitution in our jurisdiction from the involved parties.
