Wednesday marks the one-year anniversary of the Black Forest Fire. To commemorate the milestone, "Crosses for Losses," a community support organization, is holding a fundraiser at the Spirit Keeper Tavern.
Crosses for Losses was founded from the fire nearly a year ago, but they've since expanded to aide first responders throughout the Front Range. Director Amanda Davis says its important that they return the favor to those who have supported them during this trying year.
"Most of our volunteers have been the ones who have lost their homes and suffered this tragedy," she says. "It's time for us to be able to give back too. Not that we're not still struggling on our own."
All proceeds help support first responders and those displaced by disasters. The fundraiser continues on Sunday from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m.
